From childbirth classes to support groups to fun events designed specifically for women, there are events dedicated to building the health and wellness throughout our community and offered throughout the year. See upcoming events here.

Annual Women’s Health and Wellness Day

Gather up your girlfriends and join us for a half-day event designed to leave you informed, pampered and inspired. This half-day event at Saddlebrook Resort includes health screenings, physician presentations and lots of great health information. And to leave you feeling pampered, you can enjoy massages, mini-makeovers and more. Throughout the event, you can join our presentations with health experts discussing timely topics focused on women’s health, and leave the day after a delicious with door prizes and a keynote presentation. Advanced Cancer Support Group

For women with advanced or metastatic cancer to focus on coping, support, education and sharing the experiences of living with cancer. Guest speakers, open conversation, a variety of perspectives are part of the group time with flexibility to meet your specific needs. For more information, please contact Stephanie M. Breast Cancer Support Group

Breast cancer patients and survivors meet to share successes and support. Meetings include guest speakers who address a variety of helpful topics for patients and survivors, and the group features in-depth discussions in a positive environment. Breastfeeding – One-Night Class

In this one-night program, you will learn the basics about the most natural form of feeding your newborn. The class is led by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Topics covered include successful breastfeeding, the all-important latch, newborn feeding readiness, and more.  Included in the program is a detailed booklet which participants may keep. Dancing For Birth

Dancing For Birth™ prenatal and postpartum classes fuse prenatal fitness and childbirth education. The instructor is a birth expert, you’ll be learning valuable childbirth preparation skills and natural pain coping techniques that will build your confidence in your own birthing ability and wisdom. Partners will be invited periodically at no additional charge. Pre-registration required, call (813) 929-5176 for more information.

Prepared Childbirth Class – Three-Week Series

Understanding Childbirth is our three-week series taught by a Certified Childbirth Educator. Topics covered include end of pregnancy, details of labor, comfort and natural labor techniques, partner support tips, possible medical interventions and much more. Newborn Care Class – One-Night Class

This is a one-night interactive class in which our Certified Childbirth Educator will help prepare you for your journey as parents of a newborn. Topics include Apgar scoring, skin-to-skin contact, hospital procedures and screening tests. SIDS, bathing, circumcision, diapering and swaddling will be covered as well. Questions will be answered, such as what causes a “cone head”? and, how do I soothe my fussy baby? For more information including dates and how to register, visit our events page here.

Healthy Happenings

Prepared Childbirth – One-Day Express Class

This four-hour condensed version of our prepared childbirth program, Understanding Childbirth, covers the end of pregnancy, labor and birth, possible medical interventions and cesarean section. The instructor briefly touches on natural labor techniques, and provides participants with “at-home practice” resources.  The class is taught by a Certified Childbirth Educator. As part of our commitment to help our community become a healthier one, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel offers Healthy Happenings, a series of educational programs, screenings and events throughout the year. These health and wellness focused programs are open to the public and are typically free. Events require advanced registration. Vitality Program

Free exercise and education program for cancer patients and survivors (funded by the AdventHealth Wesley Chapel Foundation)
Vitality is a FREE lifestyle education and exercise program that includes full access to the Wellness Center at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel (during the program) as well as working with a registered dietician/nutritionist and personal trainers to address de-conditioning and chronic fatigue that can occur post-treatment.

Diabetes Self Management (DSME) Education – 4-week program

Learn how to manage your diabetes and mitigate its effects. May be covered by insurance with physician prescription. This is a pre-requisite for the Well on Your Way Program.

Well On Your Way

Free 12-week diabetes intervention program (funded by the Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Foundation)

Well on Your Way is a comprehensive program offering a lot more than basic education.

Working with personal trainers and a registered dietitian/nutritionist, you’ll learn how eating, exercising and living a healthier lifestyle can improve your health and help you avoid the pitfalls of diabetes-related complications. Includes a free membership to the Health & Wellness Center for the duration of the program.

Tobacco Cessation Class

Tools to Quit is a free, specially designed two-hour quit-smoking program that helps participants plan their quitting, establish goals and learn strategies that will help them succeed. Group personal training classes

Members can chose from over 100 group fitness classes including aquatic and cycling classes. Individual and small group personal training is available to members and non-members for a fee.
